Bipasha Basu pay for excess baggage at the airport

Coming from London, Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu was on Thursday asked to cough up Rs.12, 000 for excess baggage by Customs at the airport here.

Customs officials said Bipasha was not arrested but merely asked to pay excess baggage.

"She was not arrested, just to pay a fee, like any other person carrying the excess baggage," he said.

Bipasha agreed that he had gone overboard with their purchases and therefore had to pay for the excess items she was carrying.

"It was a routine and many others who are also checked. I paid Rs.12, 000 in taxes against some personal items. I think that Customs is doing an excellent job," Bipasha said in a statement.
