Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra have joined the bandwagon of celebrity, extending support to the social activist Anna Hazare, who is on an indefinite hunger strike to press for a strict law against corruption.
"I support Anna Hazare. It is time for a change!" Hrithik has written on the microblogging site Twitter.
Priyanka also had the help of the Internet to express their support.
"I just read about Anna Hazare. It's amazing the support he has received from around the country ... Also what is notable is the rise of the youth of our country in support of Anna Hazare. I pledge my support to this cause, "he said.
Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and actress Sonakshi Sinha also joined the activist behind 72 years of age.
"I support Anna Hazare. Our country has suffered from corruption for a long time ... NOW is the time to get together and do something about it," wrote Farhan.
Sonakshi said: "Usually a person who makes a difference. Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa. Congratulations Anna Hazare. We are with u."
Director Madhur Bhandarkar was the first of the film industry to go and meet Hazare at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and offer support.
